Acquired an album the other day called Black Sands by Bonobo. He's an electronic music artist from the UK and he does a really great job on this album.
The first two tracks of the album: Prelude and Kiara. Amazing intro if you ask me.

Sammeth: Strangely enough, I've actually heard of Bonobo. I don't remember how exactly I learned of him, but I have. That was a very good prelude/song, though. I really enjoyed listening to it, especially because of the rich violin? sounds that went throughout the prelude and into the song. It reminded me of Lord of the Rings a bit, hahahah! But really, I am impressed at how good that was. Usually I don't like electronic music- it gets on my nerves after about a minute in. That song was very mellow, I guess, in terms of how extreme it could have gotten with certain sounds, and what not. I liked it Are there any other songs you would suggest that I listen to by him? :0 K: First off- what an intriguing music video I like how she moved with the music, and at the end how she just kind of died/plopped over~ The song about 5 or so minutes in reminded me of Muse for some reason. Maybe it was the guitar? I don't really know, but I could just feel the Musey-ness within Also, the entirety of the song reminded me of like an intense Super Smash Brothers game level (I mean that as a compliment) Good song, overall. Had some very cool sounds mixed in, and how the song progressed towards the end with those different sounds was very entertaining~ - - - So, I have one song to share with you guys, as well. It's by Damon Albarn- a.k.a. my most favorite person in the ENTIRE UNIVERSE. He's putting out a solo album, and will be touring eventually SDQFGTEHYNERGTJAEKRG. I CAN'T WAIT. Anyways, here is his new single, which is also the title of his album.

A friend of mine mentioned how he is going to see Linkin Park/30 Seconds to Mars/AFI on tour this summer and I'm super jealous! That is a perfect combination of bands!

I've heard about that! An ex-friend of mine is going to a concert just like that and she's even meeting Linkin Park.
It seems like it would be a pretty rad show to go to :B

I just bought concert tickets like a big girl Fall Out Boy, Paramore, and New Politics are playing about an hour away from me (on my birthday!) and I just got some really good seats! It's in the first section of seating, off to the side, six rows from the front. August 31st needs to come NOW!

Sam, why the hell are you so lucky with all this? Oh right, because stuff I think the best deal on anything around here is The Black Keys, and I don't even know that many of their songs. Oh, where is IAMX when they are needed? I have yet to see it here, so... and i am, needless to say, excited for this.

Oh, btw Sam, that combo you mentioned? It's hitting here in August. Woah. I just happen to not mind all three of those bands, but Linkin Park gets a bit annoying to me sometimes, as does AFI. I still haven't heard any of the new material from LP ever since A Thousand Suns. (and don't even get me started about how much AFI I've heard...)
As for 30, well, you guys already know my feelings towards them. Like, it's down to a freaking science.

COLDPLAY! I'm sure you think the new songs are amazing, yeah? They have a nice new sound to them, but I can still pick out a Coldplay quality that makes me feel like they're not too diverse. I love Magic so much, though. Just saying. My sister likes Midnight more, which seems to be her kind of thing to do, but yeah. CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEW CD!!

cooldplayyyyy
Midnight has this really strange sound to it...really unique in my opinion. The vocals remind me loosely of Hide and Seek by Imogen Heap, and as for the music itself...I cannot for the life of me place it against something else and call it similar. Wow.
As for Magic, it still sounds a bit poppy but insanely toned down from, say, Lost! or Princess of China. More of a simplistic song, I should say. Clean sound and the video to go with it - nice choice to use the silent film format.
Excited.

I agree. Midnight is such a unique song on the album, one to be remembered. Magic is poppy, but lovely and sweet. And like you said, the music video goes well with it. Apparently people were complaining about the video because it seemed to them it was terrible and irrelevant to the song... but like, REALLY? The song is called "Magic" and the video is about magic. So... what?
I LOVE THE NEW ALBUM, BY THE WAY. I'm addicted to the song "Another's Arms" with that beautiful girl's voice in the beginning and sometimes throughout the rest of the song. It gives me chills because of how beautiful it is. ugh. I also keep getting "Ocean" and "True Love" in my head.
The entire CD is so chill, and it makes me very happy. There's an unusual and new sound to every song, but I feel it gives me an eerie but comforting sensation, which makes me feel like the title of the album really fits. Ghost Stories. I can't get over how much this new CD affects me. <3
