Well, it's better than 100% procrastinating.

Two art-related things: UNO: My sister graduates from high school in June and I wanted to come up with a nice grad present for her. She is planning on becoming an art therapist so she is taking art and psych classes while in college. What kinds of art supplies would be good for her? There is an AC Moore and Micheals near here so if you are familiar with brands or specific items at these places that would be appreciated Since most of her art stuff is from school I want her to have a few nice things when she starts college  DOS: I am beginning a big project for my one year anniversary present to Nicky ( I still can't believe it's been a year!! ) I am going to get a nice looking box and fill it with 365 things (love notes, candy, poems, etc) so that he will have a year's worth of love in a box! I wrote down a long list of things to put in the box and it looks like I can come up with 365 things. Since most of the things are paper, it won't be too heavy for shipping. I promise to take pictures as soon as it is completed

Tré... Just kidding. One: Depends on what mediums she prefers to work with. Does she like watercolor (140 lb cold press paper [in book form usually - try for at least computer paper size, if not larger], at least three brushes from their individual brushes section-small round medium flat and large flat-, and the watercolor that comes in tubes-24 pack. Also a cheap plastic pallette with a lot of dimples)? Does she prefer acrylics (ask which paper is best for acrylic, and get the same array of brushes, and get all of the colors of the rainbow of acrylic paint, along with black and white. Your best bet is the little tubes that are about a dollar each)? Does she like ink (a bottle of black India ink - don't be afraid to ask how much the big bottles are - , and ask them If they have any pens for inking. You're going to want to pick up a few extra nibs as well. Also, again, 140 lb cold press paper [since ink can be used like watercolor] and a fairly small square brush.)? In any case, you're going to want to pick up some pencils (2B and below) for sketching, quite a few erasers, one or two kneadable erasers, a sketchbook or two, a ruler, and if she's into pencils, a full range of drawing pencils (you can buy a cheap kit for this - you can break the below mentioned rule here). Also: no matter what she's into, go over to the markers and try to find a black Prismacolor .005 (anything from .05 on down is fine but most people use .005 for insane detail work) or two. They're worth it. One more thing: get a pack of two Pilot Precise v5 gel pens and a black ballpoint (a pack - again you can break the rule.) It may seem like a lot, but it's not once you figure out what she likes. Hope I helped in some way. As long as you don't pick up the dollar watercolor kits that come in dry blocks you're good (but at the same time try to spend sparingly - art's freaking expensive nowadays). Don't go too expensive, but don't go too cheap either. Awwwwh

Thanks! She mostly does drawings but there have been a few times when she was painting with watercolors and that seems to be her preferred way of painting

Then I would go with: ~24 set of watercolor tubes (you'll wanna go for a medium-range price) ~Five separate brushes (small round, small flat, medium flat, large round, large flat). Try for the black ones (can't remember the name but I think it was V or H something...they're pretty inexpensive but good brushes) Also get a one to one and a half inch wide brush. ~A pallette with dimples/rectangles in it - does not need to be large ~A little jar of ink (goes well with watercolor) ~The ink pen to go with it (one or two extra nibs) ~Cheap drawing pencils in a kit (at least H, 2B, 6B, and the shading pencil) ~Erasers ~Kneadable eraser (x2) ~Sketchbook ~The .005 pen ~The 140 lb paper - if the sketchbook says multimedia and is at least a 90lb paper then you can use this instead but you'll have to buy two sketchbooks instead of one - use one at least the size of computer paper. ~Salt (yes, regular table salt - it's used a lot with watercolor to create texture)
And that's all I can think of that she'd need. OH. If you can try for one of the sketchbooks to be larger than the other. Spiral bound is your best bet but you can also get the ones that are glue and paper bound... NO HARDCOVER.

So, guys, I came up with a story idea! I was listening to Assassin on Last.fm, and you know, pictures of Muse were in the little slide show thing it has, and I just really admire Matt's cheekbones even more than I did before. and this inspired me, strangely enough. My story idea is to have Matt as an emperor of some futuristic nation (I still need to think of a cool name). Chris would be his main guard, Dom would be his joker. I'm planning on having some sort of extreme, brutal war involved and it shows how Matt feels throughout it, his motives, etc. In the end, there was going to be huge plot twist and it was going to be pretty darn sad. I don't want to put too much info because I think I would spoil it all. I probably won't have an outline done until a week or something. If you have any suggestions, or maybe if you want to co-write it with me, just comment. Yeah

Don't let Muse die. Otherwise, it sounds really cool.
