K: They have an interesting sound; I very much like the guitars. For some reason they remind me of Cage the Elephant and Pearl Jam combined, but in a good way I have some very stressful and saddening news.. One of my favorite bands, named MGMT, are going on tour starting in April, and coming to my area on May 1st. I've missed the last tour and since then, I've been DYING to see them! But here's the problem: My sister says she will not go to the concert.. and this means my dad will not buy me tickets and also will not go with me. Therefore I will not be going and shall forever be depressed. Here's why they said "no": The venue is Lupo's, and this is where we went to see 30STM and it was not a great place at all. It's very shady and dirty. Also, my sister is not willing to learn MGMT's songs and I doubt my dad will either. I don't understand it. They have FANTASTIC music and they have matured so much more over the past few years. They're not the college band who used to get high, anymore. Lastly, the crowd will most likely be stoned or in the process of getting high, which I myself will not like, but I don't care. I just want to see this great band in the flesh and enjoy myself no matter what. I know MGMT will not like the crowd very much either if they are in such a state, but I mean esrdtfghjklrsehtdyjtuj. It's not FAIR!! Couldn't my family suck it up for once to make me happy? Of course not because they never do anything with just my word. It's always my sister's opinion that counts most of all. She's the boss around here. She always has been. So yeah. If this doesn't get resolved................. who knows. (sorry for rant that sounds angry.. it wasn't intended to have such a miserable tone if you read it that way) |

Heh, I feel your pain. I've missed many concerts because they were in bad areas that no one would drive me to. I do hope your family lets you go through. You don't need to know a band's catalog to still enjoy the show anyways. At least know in a few years you can go to whatever gigs you want without anyone really caring. Although the smaller venues have a fuckload of weed odor so that's something you might want to get used to  |

1. No, nobody knows the title. 2. I know.  3. NiN tour 4. Why just...why :noey: If weed smoke can pop up at Wembley it can pop up at any venue. Therefore it's not really a viable reason to stop someone from going. 5. I've had to smell it on the back of my school bus all of ninth grade at this school. It's nauseating :vomit: |

I think my sister is just being stubborn, to be honest. And also because MGMT isn't exactly her music taste, but still. It shouldn't matter. She knows they're a great band  I hope that I can go. tbh I can't even remember what I was talking about there :LOL: also: Haley, thought you might be interested. 30stm are unveiling the new single Up In The Air on March 18th. And that Jigsaw Falling Into Place made it to #5 in Time's list of top 10 songs of 2007. And that I am taking a liking to Keane. And...you get the point. |
