Ahh my mom's sitting here watching Battleship and it keeps freezing up and she says "It's not fair". Proceed to mentally scream at her, because she wants to talk about FAIR?! When she deprived me of a concert I've been waiting two years for? One I'l have to wait at least four more years for? Yeah, real nice time to talk about fair. /rant over

Well, Friday night at eight, I lost power. And I just got my power back last night.
what a journey.
So, it was about 30 degrees in my house and below for a while. I was under 6 blankets and I still had frostbite- fingers a darkening purple. My dad actually lied down next to me to keep me warm, or tried to. It made me happy, sad, and curious. You see, that morning I wished in my head for someone I love to come and keep me warm.. and then my dad came in my room and did exactly that. It made me both happy and sad in the fact that when I was a toddler, taking naps next to each other was OUR thing. I'd do it all of the time- lie on top of him and fall asleep. It just made me sad because now that I am older, this no longer happens anymore. One of the strongest bonds I used to have with my dad is not present today, besides those few minutes he could lie with me.
During that time, I read one of the best books to have ever existed. It seriously changed my whole perspective of life, which I must say a lot of books do, but it practically broke me down in ways I cannot explain. This book, which I have cried over for about 5 hours straight, is called "Just One Day" by Gayle Forman. I totally recommend it even though, sure, it's romance. Believe me, it's not even the love that comes through most powerful, it's all of the little details. It's just- ahhhh.
So, now, skipping to Sunday, it was 4 degrees at 8 in the morning. I was awake. And cold. That was the coldest I've ever been. I actually think that was the day in which my dad lied down next to me.
Anyways, because I live on such a small street [3 neighbors], 2 are very close to my family. Jason, who had inherited a generator from someone he knew, was SO KIND in helping my family out with it. He and my family gathered a bunch of power cords and had it going from his house to mine. So, with that, my other very dear neighbor had an extra heater and yes. I was saved.
My sister and I migrated into the living room, shut our bedroom doors, and slept on the couch together. I bonded with her so much and I miss it IMMENSELY.
Also, I read another great book [it was so difficult to move on from 'Just One Day', but I had nothing else to do but read]. Again it touched me, but perhaps even made me more depressed than I was.. and I was pretty darn low, guys, from the first book. It is called "Every Day". I forget who it is by, but it's just a really great book.
There is so much more to say that I missed explaining, but yeah. Now the technology is separating my family again. School is stressing me out endlessly [mid-year for Algebra tomorrow; Spanish presentation of death tomorrow, people everywhere, etc.].
I really just miss how peaceful it was.
There is my rant. Sorry it's long.

Haley: Nice! My dad and I used to do that, too. Sucks that it was that cold, though.

Aw, Haley, why must cold be so mean to you? :supersad: Glad you got the generator though If I'd known I would have sent you a box of hot chocolate mix (we have like ten boxes laying around).
